Frustrated with your position?
Tired of instructors telling you WHAT to do with your body but not HOW to do it?
Ready to make a change in your riding?
Join us in warm, sunny Florida for an intensive winter of
Dressage Seat Boot Camp!
Meet Barbie Asplundh, our instructor
The quest for an effective dressage
seat begins with understanding how
to use your body.
I spent many years becoming a USET Grand Prix rider and trainer, but was still burdened by major position faults. They interfered with my balance and my aids, and caused me enormous frustration.
Trainer after trainer was unable to help me. It wasn't until I discovered Pilates that I learned what I needed to do with
my body to produce a proper position.
I'm very excited to finally have the tools
to help riders make drastic improve-ments in their ability to sit well,
and consequently, ride well.
You can have the position you
have always wanted!
So, what is Dressage Seat Boot Camp?
Boot Camp is a Pilates based, three month course (January-March 2012)
designed specifically to improve riders' seats and positions.
What does it consist of?
4 private riding lessons each week with Barbie Asplundh
2 monthly mounted sessions with Jennifer Uhlinger, Pilates instructor
1 weekly Pilates based group stretching and strengthening class
Weekly reading assignments and group discussions
Field trips to competitions and local trainers
The use of video during lessons
How many students are accepted into the program?
This year, enrollment is limited to five riders only, ensuring individual attention.
How do I know if Boot Camp is right for me?
Boot Camp is for every dressage rider who wants to improve their seat! We have taught people of all ages and fitness levels. If you think you are too old, too
stiff, or too heavy--you're NOT! This program is adaptable for anyone.
All we ask is that you want to learn, and are willing to work at it.
This is a positive, supportive, fun program! However, it is
probably not for someone who wants to do a great deal
of competing during the Florida season.
Our arena has excellent sand/ rubber/GGT fabric footing, and is watered and groomed daily. Mirrors on one short side help you check your position! We also have a brand new round pen.
Our lovely farm is on 5 quiet acres in Loxahatchee, Florida, 20 minutes from Wellington, the winter horse capital of the country. There are 12 winter shows within walking distance.
Our barns have airy stalls that are 12x12 or larger, with mats and fans. We have screens, fly systems and use fly predators. There are two wash stalls, one with hot and cold water.
Trailer parking and plenty of tack storage are available.
There is ample turnout and our entire farm is fenced and gated. A washer and dryer are available. We are across from White Fences, and have lots of space to hack out there.
